Wind Forecast Belgian Coast

Windspeed Cadzand
More information: The windspeed must be at least 8m/s (on this graph below, because the wind is measured 5km from the coast) to be able to go upwind at the Belgian Coast. 8m/s windspeed at sea equals 5-6m/s at the coast. At 8m/s windspeed, the windgusts will be 10m/s. If there is a very big difference between the windspeed and windgusts (more than 5m/s), the wind is offshore and way to dangerous to go kiteboarding. The flatter the line of the windgusts, the easier it is to sail.

Wind Direction Cadzand
More information: You need at least 250° (on this graph) for constant wind at the Belgian Coast. Windrange has to be between 250° and 70° (over 360°). All the other windranges are very gusty off-shore wind, impossible and very unsafe to go kiteboarding.

Mumm Forecast
More information: Graphical overview of the Mumm Forecast. On this graph, 6m/s is the absolute minimum to go out kiteboarding. Less than 6m/s is only good training on the beach and bodydrag in the water. Again, windrange has to go from 250° to 70°. Less than 250° and more than 70° is unsafe off-shore wind.
